MLM Leadership :: Leveraging Talents For Team Success

Let’s discuss Leveraging talents for team Success. Have you been in business long enough to meet people who proudly proclaim to be ‘one man/woman bands’ …?  I certainly have. They think it’s a badge of merit, and also use this as a way to sneak diss other people. It’s a way of saying, I am doing this all by myself because no one else wants to do this with me.

When talking of the “long walks” I have been on, even I must be careful not to make this misstep.

This is also why I want to put this out here, so no one gets this idea. In fact, let’s discuss from an MLM Leadership perspective, and a business owner P.O.V. as well.  Because this industry attracts so many people with a self employed mentality, there are several ‘leaders’ who are pulling together. In MLM, Leadership truly is all about Leveraging Talents for Team Success. It does involve understanding ‘how to play the game’, and from there individual talents can shine through.

For example – some people are great talkers, but if they don’t understand how to play this game, they’ll talk themselves out of sales.

The ‘best use’ of that talent, is Doing Presentations and Training. If you’re a leader that enjoys speaking, be sure to apply that talent where it matters. Spending time talking, for the sake of talking, is eating up time you (or that leader) could be spending on prospecting.  Let’s say you don’t like to talk ‘verbally’ but do enjoy speaking with your hands. Many of you ‘should’ be using those talents to ‘write’ for your team.  Instead of just tweeting, or debating politics on facebook, ‘apply’ your talents for team success.

In MLM, too often folks want to play every single role. To be fair I see this in business too.

Some leaders will have a team member who makes beautiful flyers, and instead, decide to make the flyers themselves.  They don’t have the same sense of design, and feel like it won’t really matter. Unaware of the psychology that is going on with the people they’re seeking to reach. These leaders are short sighted, and are more interested in being in charge, playing the role – than BEING that role. A real leader, a good one, will leverage the talent on the team. Leveraging that talent, using the one who excels at it, gives that leader more ‘time’ to do other things. The flyer, designed by a better eye, will also be more effective when promoted. The end result of the two people leveraging their talents together would be a much larger ‘turn out’ to the event, the leader and the team is promoting.

Where as, cutting the flyer designer out, makes them feel ‘less a part of the team’, and less likely to even help promote said event. Especially when the flyer is trash….

When building teams, the first thing I’m examining is talent. I look at skill sets to see where the best place to put them would be.  This is a big reason that for years, while building Crazygood, another leader on my team was doing the weekly presentations. Even though I was more than capable, had already made video presentations to recruit most of my leaders, to ‘grow’ the team, I knew I would need other leaders, to Help lead.  This was a very effective move, that eventually went from leveraging talents for team success, to coming up with an entire system for all our multiple streams.

That, however, became the new challenge. Several ‘leaders’ have come through the doors of the 1mlmsystem, but most are promoting a company.  I’m looking for the people, who come through our doors, talking about building a team.

Facebook Down, Instagram WhatsApp Too; DDos Attack

Today Facebook and it’s family of social media platforms are down; Facebook Down, Instagram Down, WhatsApp is down too. The outages apparently the result of a DDos Attack. Not too long ago I cut a video that you can see below, about why Facebook Sucks for Network Marketers. I feel that too many people in network marketing rely on this platform ‘only’, and tune out other options to use, while building. Along with the attraction to automation, networkers are losing the much needed human touch.

Plus with Facebook Down, and others you see how fragile your business can be.

“if”, this is how you’re building your business.  That facebook “Live” you were using isn’t going out to most of your audience today. The IG TV show you put together to launch your business, also failed you today. A while back, sites using facebook as a way for members to login, were unable to serve their customer bases. (Because users could not log in.)

Throughout the years, it’s grown too popular and far too powerful. I no longer use their ‘comment section’, so that our site is not going to go down, when Facebook is.

With Facebook down, we get lessons on ‘all your eggs in one basket’. This is an argument for diversity, and decentralization. more than likely Facebook, IG and WhatsApp will recover from this DDos Attack. Knowing these can happen at any time however, should make you, think more deeply about your approach to building.

Use TheConversionPros to build lead capture pages, landing pages, and use their auto responders to Market ‘directly’ to your leads through email.  Email marketing is a lost art. I guess the argument is, people don’t read their emails anymore.  It’s not a lie though.

Readers are leaders and frankly, the industry is missing Leaders … who Read ….

We used to recommend ‘building through our 1mlmsystem Live Office’, but now we have “The Secret Office”.  All part of The Rich Man’s Plan from TNG, it is a similar concept. When building, you and I have to get prospects ‘out’ of environments with distractions. Back in the day that meant going to a hotel conference room, or ballroom meeting. Pulling people out of environments that distract them, help you build better teams. Teams of people who will read email they see, from you.

While facebook down trends, and jokes are made on twitter, lessons await to teach the Student who is Ready.

Again, this is what happens when people don’t spread themselves out. Again, I’m the guy who blamed ‘the people’ when Crazygood went out of business. I said people using it, did not place value on using the network. They all kept putting value on Facebook. That ‘same energy’ has gone into instagram, and that’s why facebook bought them. When TSU rolled out, the same thing happened again.  Folks didn’t use it ‘like they used’ facebook.  Too many people treated it like something different, and that’s why it went out of business.

OneCoin.com – Another Scam We Warned You About

I just updated the description a few moments ago on my OneCoin.com video; when news broke a few years back that the founder was arrested.  Looks like it took them a few to finally charge them all. This is how it goes, with scams. Just as we warned you about Bitconnect, and how it would end like Zeek Rewards – we were right about OneCoin.  We were right about Kannaway as well. Notice you never hear anything about that company, that was simply trying to ‘capitalize’ on ignorance. Overpriced ‘products’ are always going to be challenging for people to sell, through the MLM model.

“Might” work on a nice screen cap for this OneCoin.com video as well. There is always ‘quite a bit to do’ when you’re going at this ‘the right way’. By that, I mean avoiding all the automation that is making MLM suck again. That ‘personal touch’ will never get old, in this line of work.

Personally, people didn’t appreciate this video, and I felt it.

They let me know, that they didn’t like my “told you so” attitude, in one way or another.  It’s fine – as I stated in a post on facebook, those aren’t the type of folks I can lead…

In #DaleCarnegie’s book, #HowToWinFriendsAndInfluencePeople (recommended reading for anyone working in Leadership Positions/Roles etc…) — ONE of the main ‘how to’s’ revolves around … “Never telling People They Are Wrong” — Because, people do not like to be told, when they are wrong; they DISLIKE people who tell them when they are wrong;

Which feeds into why People are so Easily “Influenced” By all the WRONG people; those folks simply never point out what they are doing wrong, and they “like them” and allow those folks to shape them; (while usually, turning Away from those who point out wrong, and also ignoring the Advice they give that ‘would’ help them — they Choose not to listen) — It’s one of the ‘rules’ I never liked nor agreed with.

I figure, if the people I’m leading do not want to be “Coached” and Mentored; which often Involves pointing out flaws, ‘so that you can do better, be better, get better results….’ – then those are the people ‘for me’ …. and if anybody fell out with me, over telling them #OneCoin is a Scam; honestly – that says more about them, than ‘they’ can ever say about me. … that’s how I see it.

Almost every other ‘how to’ in this book, I adhere to in my leadership to this day. I’m often lifting up those who contribute to the team. It is almost ‘rare’ for them to get praised that often. Sometimes it turns people away simply because they ‘think’ I am up to something. Though, not as quickly as telling people something they ‘love’, like Onecoin.com or Bitconnect, isn’t what ‘they’ think it is.

I say, look to the reputation of those you follow. If you want to follow us, read this blog; watch the youtube videos. Our message has been consistent. We want to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of; so we can BUILD a team that looks out for one another in a pool filled with sharks.

Been On A Long Walk : Leadership Challenges

Some leadership challenges are all too common.

Big reason why I’m a fan of Game of Thrones, is they often deal directly with leadership deficiencies in various Characters. Robert Baratheon, the King we first meet when the story begins, is a great warrior, but a terrible ruler. He’d rather leverage all of the day to day duties to others. This, was his downfall as King. People he entrusted with power, saught more power for themselves. They conspired against King Robert, and plotted for his downfall.

Leadership Challenges you and I to always pay attention … never take your eye off the ball.

On this long walk, I have noticed ‘what and who’ people are following, instead of me. What people follow, fails them. Yet I don’t feel bad because they made that decision, to follow the frauds, the scams, and the short cuts – Instead of me.

This long walk has helped me get clear on who and what I need on my team; I often ask you to unsubscribe, and will do so again because if you’re on my list and we’re not working together — WHY ARE YOU HERE —- ?

Leadership Challenges us to be Honest with ourselves, and those we lead.

Being honest with ourselves, can be difficult. After seeing how many people were signing up for my system, who were not ‘completing’ sign up steps I had to be honest. Is my system as ‘simple’ as it needs to be? Do I just not have the right leaders to build this team with? If so, is it up to me to find The leaders I need?

All of these questions, I have asked myself, on this Long Walk.

I’ve been meditating on it all, and the answers have come. Knowing what I need to do, and doing it, are two different things. This is a challenge that all of us can probably relate to. We know that ultimately to build our businesses, we must make contact. Waiting for people to come to us (Attraction Marketing) can only go so far. For those who, like me, believe in more hands on approaches, let’s have a serious discussion today.

TNG Launches Rich Man’s Plan For MLM Industry

A few weeks ago, I announced that I’d be launching The Rich Man’s Plan. Yes, it’s a direct response to the thief who came into our system, and decided to ‘try’ and use our principles for his own benefit. It taught me that I’ve got to do better at safeguarding what I’ve created.  If you or anyone else comes across these ideas, you’ll know immediately they came from TopNetworkersGroup.  You see, within the MLM industry, the ideas I’ve presented have been unpopular. They have been slow to catch on, as the Old Guard fights to keep the status quo.

The problem with status quo in MLM is 90% of our industry is broke.

That statistic has to change, for our industry to ever garner the respect it deserves.  However, if we as leaders won’t lead properly, do we or our industry deserve respect?  IF we continue to do what is not working for 90% of the people in our downlines, should be be called respectable opportunities?  Let’s be honest, as we move forward.

TNG has never been for everyone. People get turned off by all this brutal honesty, and yet I feel that is what’s truly missing from MLM.  You and I need to be honest with one another to build wealth. The way most of us are approaching it, ain’t it!! So our solution has truly been THE answer for some time now.

What’s missing are, the right people, and for a few years now, the right tools.

We’ve had our own websites, which truly were enough to build on. But our Live Office continued to have challenges. Eventually it shut down and I’ve been looking for a new option, to accomplish the same goal.  That Live Office was a POWERFUL tool for us.  We debuted it while building Crazygood.  It allowed us to bring a random person to our office, show them the opportunity, and they could get started and plugged in to training right away.   If they were smart, they could also start inviting others in, and we could build 2-3 levels deep in a day, with a brand new person.

In our update about rebuilding the TNG leadership ranks, it was made clear that this will be an important focus going forward.  This should have been the focus from the start, but it was a ‘late addition’ to the system.  While setting everything up, we never discussed ranks. My co-founder for the system, wanted to focus on ‘a company’, that ended up going out of business. That was always why we were supposed to ‘not’ focus on one company. Mistakes like these, ‘should’ work as lessons, that teach people what not to do.

Sometimes the side effect, is that person is too prideful to admit they were wrong, and they quit MLM all together.

So I am here looking for people that want to LEAD this team, but are willing to follow – not do their ‘own thing’. Unfortunately, that won’t help either of us get the goals we have set for ourselves. We have to follow a structured organized plan. This is where The Rich man’s Plan comes in. It’s a much more organized presentation of the ‘ideas’ we’ve been forming, for these past few years.

From day one, I’ve screamed “the companies do not matter” – unfortunately without the right leadership, this message gets lost in translation.   The frontline HAS to understand what this means, or else our mission will not be accomplished.   As I stated earlier, far too many people who came through our system, got ‘hung up’ in the programs.   The last person to sign up for the 1mlmsystem, wanted me to add Wealthy Associate to the ‘line up’ … just another in a long line of people who think I work for them.  Participation Trophy Mentality at it’s … worst … where Reps want uplines to do what THEY tell them to do.   Everyone wants to be a boss, but doesn’t wanna do the work to be a boss. (Correlation between Mentors and Success in MLM)
