No attention, No Retention: Meetings still have Value.

Welcome back to the world of Network Marketing Al, you’ve been away for 4 years and a LOT has changed – there are now, TONS of companies that people can join for LESS than $100 and even Some that have No Cost at all! Unlike the way it was so many years ago, these FREE Businesses have Value :: and there are tons of automated, automatic online businesses, that are telling people how much easier it is to build ONLINE entirely, with no hassle, no meetings, no friends and family to ‘bother/bugg/annoy’

Sounds pretty attractive New world of Network Marketing :: wow, so much has changed – and yet, so much has remained the same.

After coming back to this world, and initially building ‘entirely’ with webinars and websites, i must say – there is Something to the Old school way of Physical meetings – especially on a weekly basis.

Sure, I see the value of Using the internet to Enhance everything we do : but all this talk of building Without the Old school methods, are simply ploys to take advantage of people who don’t know any better – OR – are looking for shortcuts to success.

Let me explain : With a Webinar, or a Teleconference of any kind, there is no way to see for yourself if new distributors are paying attention.

No attention = No retention.

After a year of giving it a shot, I can say without a doubt, the BEST way to build success with your network marketing business, is to do it OFFLINE.

Also, friends and family …. make good customers; not always good business partners.

What needs to happen is, new distributors need better training and instruction as to NOT bug, bother, or annoy their friends and family about joining their business, or getting rich from selling their products or services; Asking them to TRY what you are selling however – well come on, who else are you gonna ask that question of?  If someone is a friend of mine, and I have a business that sells what they like buying, why shouldn’t they buy it from me?

And while there are so many tools, blogs, websites, videos, and ways to share this information with people :: nothing beats a Home Party :: inviting friends over to SEE what I am selling, to feel it, to ask questions about it, and to consider Purchasing my product from me ::: it’s Duplicatable too – because not everyone can HOST and CONDUCT a Webinar.

But, Everyone can invite people over to hear about a business, and consider improving their lives together :: with people they already know and (hopefully) Love.

With a meeting, I can SEE who’s paying attention, who’s taking notes, who’s seriously considering the information being shared :: and because of the way Human Beings naturally are, if a guest of mine, or a new business partner attends a meeting, and EVERYONE is paying attention, are they going to be the stand out, who’s not? Conformity is Comfortable.

When people are in an evironment of success, they will conform to successful ways of thinking, speaking, believing, and doing.

It’s difficult to create an Environment of Success, when we do not ask people to ever Leave their Environment of Failure.

Yes the couch is cozy and comfortable ::: but what kind of Confort is that? What kind of Environment is it in?

We NEED to ask people to Leave their homes sometimes, full of turmoil, stress, and challenges – to attend a Place that is full of hopes, dreams, and positive assertions of ones ability to go from where they are, to where they see themselves being.

The Meeting still has Value – I believe, with all the Tools that have emerged the meeting still holds the MOST Value.

If you are building a business Online, that’s great – BUT – make sure that you and your teams are making the effort to build Locally as well. Or else, you may not have a business that lasts very long, as many will quit – from never truly zoning in, and learning HOW to improve their lives, with that Great and Awesome business you helped them sign up for, over the internet.  Now they are blaming you, and your business, and network marketing :: instead of themselves – They didn’t watch the videos you told them to watch, not all the way at least – they are too embarrassed to tell you that.  They’d rather make you feel bad, so they don’t have to dislike themselves and their own lack of work ethic.

And yet, some of the problem is – they never got OUT of the house; they stayed around the same people, the same ideas, the same tv playing the same garbage in the background, with the same people calling them on the phone with the same gossip, and toxic thinking continually polluting their lives.

If you are leading, you need to meet with your people – and encourage them to do the same with theirs.

A FREE Forced Matrix :: Work Required :: Easy to do

In a nutshell, I’d say this is what Peoplestring was supposed to be.

I’m negative on that ‘opportunity’ because frankly, no one I talk to who loves it will admit, that it’s a flop – and to me something is Very Fishy about that.

Here’s a company, that is going to be able to do what the other can’t; because they are using the Main people who are willing to spend money to advertise now – Marketers; Network Marketers….

Take a look at why I’m impressed with this Simple company, by watching my videos here: in My opinion is going to EXPLODE and so, you need to sign up and figure this out as you go, like I am doing :: I am very impressed with the back office so far :: Lots of great promotional tools are provided by the company, like the flashing graphic you see here – BUT with a little bit of work, and just 3 FREE referrals, you will be in a position to earn some Serious income – I am even considering their $10 membership to become a PRO member :: as there are some awesome benefits that come with that – I hate to start this out ‘bashing’  Peoplestring but – I signed up – I used it – it just gets worse and worse each month :: Seemingly the owners of the company have no direction and are trying anything to keep you interested – With – it’s  a similar idea; You sign up for FREE, check some emails, and that allows you to get INTO The FREE Matrix :: Refer 3 people and now you can SEE how much you are earning :: Continue checking Emails and there are even MORE things you can do inside :: and I will consider putting together Training videos to show people just how MUCH They can do with this.

The Greatest Networker … John Milton Fogg

Lots of people in our industry of network marketing, have turned to ‘gurus’ who are quite frankly, taking advantage of people. They are paying money for information they could have gotten for Free – this is not to suggest that they are not also offering solid advice :: but even most of that is available, for Free.

People tend to think that, if they pay for it – it’ll be more valuable. I guess that’s why Napster had to change their business model; OH wait – people were quite ok with FREE music – it was the Record Industry, the ones losing money on what they were selling, who objected to the idea.

The “Gurus” charging tons of money for information – are the Record Industry at this moment – this the beginning really, of Internet Marketing.

11 years ago, when I entered the Network Marketing arena, I turned to the Internet to find ‘leads’ almost right away. I had a comfort with talking to people, but used what I learned at the Training Meetings, to sort people online for my business :: BUT something was still missing.

Enter, The Greatest Networker, an awesome FREE e-book from John Milton Fogg. I was having upline issues at the time. The guy who introduced me, disappeared; the guy who sponsored him stepped in, but I wasn’t very coachable.  I made excuses “He’s not in California, I’m here building alone, I don’t know the right people ….”

Then I read this book. I then realized, it was up to ME to become BETTER, not up to my Upline to be anything other than he had been; an Example of what to do, to make money in this industry.

If you have not read this book yet, and you are struggling with your business – especially if you’re paying LOTS of money to learn “how to do this” – stop doing that — read the book, OR listen to the audios — it will change everything about your business, And your life.


I found an awesome page today about Networking.

I wanted to point out a few definitions given on this page; I highly recommend however you read it for yourself : The article is referencing “Your Job Search” – but really the information can be applied to Your Search for Opportunities – as well.

This would include; your Search for new customers – and so important, your search for qualified, hungry business partners who will take Your business seriously.

Let’s look at the Meaning of the word “networking”

What is Networking?

Networking is the art of building alliances. It’s not contacting everyone you know when you are looking for a new job and asking if they know of any job openings. Networking starts long before a job search, and you probably don’t even realize you are doing it.

Kelly Pate of the Denver Post wrote in her article, Everyday People Key in Job Networking (March 30, 2003), that “Friends, friends of friends, a barber, a neighbor and former co-workers are often the best resources for job seekers, especially in a market with far more people out of work than job openings, job placement experts say.

When you think of the Network Marketing industry – it’s two words; Networking and Marketing; that’s all we do; it’s the reason, that this is the #1 industry in the world when it comes to earning money. The trouble most people have is they do not take the time to Learn how to do it effectively.

Naturally, I only share “top secrets” like How to get Customers, and How to Recruit an organization to the people that Join my businesses; I take pride in training people HOW to do things – I know the methods work and when Others learn how to use them, together we multiply our income.

You are probably networking all the time :: the old cliche is that it’s not WHAT we know but WHO we know that makes all the difference in the outcome of our lives. So, Who do you know? Who are you getting to know? Who are you spending your time around? One of the beautiful things about Network Marketing is the people. You will meet some fantastic people to know; you will hear about things by knowing these people, that you would not have heard of otherwise.

Just being Involved in the industry is a tremendous benefit to any individual seeking to better their lives; there is a wealth of education and there are people from all walks of life, working and building businesses, In the network marketing industry.

So, if you are in My company or any company, it is So important, that you Show Up to all the Events; Hang out with the People who are moving in a direction that YOU want to go in. Just by doing that, you will increase your odds of meeting people, who like you, want to improve their lives as well.

Who are you networking with? and what are you Networking about?

This is what separates the people who earn income in our industry from everyone else; All of us are Networking all the time – but are we taking the time to Market?

Listen, no one wants to be a sales person; I teach people HOW to get customers without being that annoying salesperson – however, the people who fail to earn money are the ones who don’t take the advice – and in fact ARE the annoying salesperson 🙂

The “Marketing” aspect of what we do – is an artform; You’ll need to learn it and learn it well.

It will set your business on fire; as you’ll have a Handful of Customers; and THEN you will find yourself more able to Teach OTHERS how to get a handful of customers too. When that happens, THEY Will be able to Teach people how to get Customers; and so on, and so on – meanwhile YOU and the Incomes of Your Business Partners will grow, grow, and eventually, begin to explode.

Sounds Too Simple right? Well it IS that simple.

The obstacles of life will get in your way; You will face negative reactions; not everyone you talk to will be supportive; and YOU will bring your own personal baggage to the table; attitudes and perspectives that may not be healthy for you; can hinder your ability to Throw out what you Think you know; and Learn the concepts Taught by Leaders within Any Good network marketing company.I teach people I work with “HOW to Phrase things they say” – so that people will have an Interest in looking at what they are selling.

I encourage you to read this article, because he does a great job of explaining what Networking Is; the larger your NETWORK – the better you are at it, the better you will be at knowing What to Market to Whom, and WHEN To market it to them vs. When Not to.

What Networking Isn’t

Networking isn’t a process of making cold-calls to people you don’t know. It’s talking to people you do know or asking them to introduce you to others.

Networking does not have to be a carefully-choreographed process of meeting and greeting people. It’s much better done on a more informal basis, but remember that networking is always a two-way street. It must benefit both persons to be most effective, so as you ask your network for help when you need be prepared to return the favor when asked.

The key there is that It must Benefit BOTH parties.

This is a fatal flaw of understanding Many Networkers have – they are only thinking of themselves. Think of others and much more will be accomplished – and it will last much longer.

Multiple Streams of Income ….

Many years ago I read a wonderful book, called “Multiple Streams of Income” by Robert G. Allen.

A wonderful book full of solid ideas about creating lifetime income – from multiple sources. Most people I know have one source of income – God forbid something should happen to them, and they have no back up source of income.

Sadly, this happens to people all the time.  It’s been said, that most people are only $500 away from living on the street. Isn’t that amazing?

In the wealthiest country our planet has ever known, most of it’s people are just $500 away – from being absolutely broke. When I drive past homeless people on the street, because of this fact, I cannot help but say to myself in thankful prayer, “but for the Grace of God … there go I.”

The concepts presented in this book are worth noting here – Over the course of 10 years a person should seek to set up 10 Streams of Income; Spending 1 year setting up and solidifying each.

From reading this blog, you know I am involved in the Network Marketing Industry – that’s what led me to read the book – a Major emphasis in our industry is on Personal Growth and Development; Especially in the area of financial literacy – so that when You are making the kind of money you got into network marketing to make you will know how to KEEP it.

Many options are presented in this book – from Real Estate, Stock Market Investing, starting your own business, becoming an Infoprenuer – and even Network Marketing is mentioned in this book as a viable way to create a Stream of Income.

It’s a quality source of information that can boost your ideas about making money in Todays uncertain economy.

He even wrote a 2nd book, called “Multiple Streams of Internet Income” — which of course covers the various ways of making money online!

You will find many examples in this blog – the key to keep in mind is that this is Additional income – this is not get rich quick income although it can happen for those that go to work.

Most of us have become conditioned – we are creatures of habbit – we have a routine when we come home from work; we relax, we may cook for our family, and relax some more – play a video game, listen to music, or watch tv.

Most of us do not come home from our day job, and start work on our part time job.

That’s exactly what we SHOULD Do however, if we want to be financially secure.   See, if you could generate an additional $500/mo for your household, on top of what you are doing now – you will help your family avoid what has happened to so many others.

We’d call them unfortunate perhaps – but today, let us realize that We Make our own Fortunes – or decide not to.
