Looks like I was prophetic when speaking about what it would take for The Cavs to get past The Hawks. Lebron James was going to need the help of his team. I was asking if he even had the right players around him to defeat the Hawks, a team who got to the Eastern Conference Finals through, teamwork. It turns out he did. J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, and several other players stepped up to Help Lebron make his 5th Straight appearance in the NBA Finals.

Lebron James also played incredible, often carrying his team who did not have their 2nd best player Kyrie Irving until the final closing game. As for the Hawks, vital players went down in the series like Kyle Korver. He was one of the best shooters in the NBA all of this past season and his presence was missed. Al Horford got ejected from one of the games and who knows how that might have went, had he been available for the full game.

At the end of the day though (and the end of the series) – what matters is which team gets to 4 wins first; not How they get there or who helps them get there.Getting there, however does come down to what your team does; or does not do.

Teams Win Championships – The Cavs will meet The Warriors on June 4th, for the NBA Championship for the 2014-2015 season. Coming out of the west, is a team that has performed as a team all season long. They play team offense; and team defense too. They are a dangerous team because they work so well together; and it doesn’t hurt that the MVP of the league is on their team as well.

He also needed his team to step up big time during their series against the Houston Rockets who they sent home in 5 games. In game 4 Steph took a spill and it looked like he might have to sit out a couple of games; it could’ve been even worse …

While he was in the back, getting tested by team officials, Klay Thompson caught fire and helped keep Houston ahead. Harrison Barnes stepped up and played big. So did Draymond Green. Golden State lost Game 4, which the MVP returned to finish. However had he been healthy for the entire game there may not have been a game 5; in spite of James Harden dropping 45 points.

Houston failed to perform as a team; there were great individual performances but, no actual team effort – which is required to stop a team as lethal as Golden State. Just as I asked before – will Lebron James get enough help to overcome the challenge of a real team?

He will need a repeat of the performance his teammates gave him; he’ll also need Kyrie to play for more than just one game. The same is true for the supporting cast of the current MVP of the League – Steph Curry. He will need his team, to win this championship.

It’s the first opportunity for the Warriors in 40 years; and the first opportunity for the Cavaliers to win their first ever. As a sports fan, I am truly looking forward to this.

In the MLM industry we can learn so much from Sports – and if you’re picking up lessons from watching sports, I see nothing wrong with that. Just make sure that when it is game time for you – that you are showing up to aid your teammates. Whether you are the MVP of your team, or a role player on your team – YOU are a necessary cog in the wheel. You are a part of the solution; Teams win Championships – not individuals.

Because the individuals are nothing, without the team.
